The Story

Need A Bigger Boat releases. The beers that took Boat, turned up the volume, and helped define what a Double Boat could be.

First up: SS Variation. Back since 2023 and still one of our favorites.

Eight hops deep — Citra, Galaxy, and Amarillo driving tropical fruit and citrus up front, Centennial and Cascade holding down the resinous core, Nelson Sauvin adding that white wine, gooseberry edge you can’t quite name but can’t stop chasing. Double dry hopped, fermented clean on Kölsch yeast. Louder aroma, deeper hop expression, and somehow drinks brighter than 8.4% has any right to.

Unmistakably Boat. Just with more horsepower.
